Top5Gaming & Team Unite Bring Cinematic Live Events to Fortnite in ‘Event Wars’

Team Unite and Top5Gaming have come together to create the next generation of a classic Fortnite experience. Event Wars is a spin on one of Fortnite Creative’s most popular genres, with custom recreations of classic live events happening in real-time as players fight to the death. Team Unite has gone above and beyond with top-notch animations, custom VFX and sound in order to not only create mind bending cinematics, but actually have them influence the battlefield.
At its core, this is a Zone Wars experience: we have created a familiar competitive playstyle with tournament round formats. Additionally, Event Wars has a custom ranking system that saves your progress across each session, and rewards you through challenging achievements.
During each round of Event Wars, an event can influence the battle, whether it’s a Rocket flying across the map and rifting players, a Meteor falling from the sky and freezing time, or a Volcano erupting and causing lava to rise from the floor - forcing players to seek high ground.
One of the largest events we have designed is a recreation of The Final Showdown, an iconic live event from Fortnite Chapter 1, where a giant monster attacks the island and in response, they build a Mech in order to fight it. This happens in real-time during Event Wars, giving a true scale to the battle at hand, and forcing players to think on their feet and avoid the impending chaos.
Top5Gaming is one of the largest Fortnite creators in the world, their main YouTube channel has almost 6 million subscribers and a combined view count of over 2.3 billion. Event Wars is the first partnership between Team Unite and T5G, who worked closely together to create the vision for this project and truly immerse their audience in a familiar yet refreshing experience.
Top5Gaming are known for their largely popular Fortnite Storyline series, where they break down the meaning and lore behind some of Fortnite’s largest events, and Team Unite has combined that with their audiences’ favorite mode: Zone Wars. Event Wars has been designed from the ground-up with this in mind, developed entirely using UEFN.
