Introducing… Prison Breakout 3.0

We are pleased to announce that Prison Breakout is about to receive its most expansive update yet! Starting today, you can jump into Update 3.0, a major extension of the game’s open world and overhaul of our map!
Featuring 6 new regions, 10 new stores, and a completely refreshed Prison, the world of Breakout is larger than ever. Discover new mountain regions, lakes and beaches, or take your friends to Club Island, indulging in a tropical music festival!
With all of this new content, you’ll want to save up some Gold, and our latest update gives players more ways to earn it than ever before. You can head to the Prison Mine and get to work, trading valuable resources for some cash. Once you find yourself out of prison, you can earn Gold from other activities like fishing!
That’s not all! Travel between each island using various modes of transport! Prisoners can steal a helicopter from the Prison, or hijack a boat and traverse the vast ocean! Or, keep it simple. Grab yourself a car and take a road trip, weaving through mountains and tunnels. Thanks to our bridges and boat docks, there are plenty of ways to get around.
Update 3.0 introduces a much-anticipated overhaul to our Weapon Store. We’ve removed all the vending machines around the map, reducing lag and providing a cleaner overall look. This means that every type of weapon, from Regular to Mythic, is now available in one single place!
For those who spend most of their time in Crim City, we have made some massive changes to the layout and buildings in the Downtown Area. Every single store has received an updated interior, some are now twice the size! Unfortunately, while bigger stores means bigger loot, you should try to avoid being arrested.
Prisoners who are caught by the Guards now have to serve a Prison Sentence before they can leave their cell again! Don’t worry, it’s only 20 seconds! To make things better, we have decreased the Respawn Time of all players! But to accommodate these new sentences, the Prison has undergone some heavy renovation work, with entirely new rooms, a Mine, and updated animations for gates and breakouts!
But a map this large is nothing without secrets, and Prison Breakout 3.0 has plenty to uncover! While the Alien Invasion has been contained, there is more work to be done. We managed to figure out what the Aliens were looking for, and have contained it in a highly secured facility to the East. While you gear up to begin your investigation, a highly-requested feature has finally arrived in Prison Breakout!
Players can now be rewarded with our all-new Quest feature! As part of the 3.0 update, players will now receive daily challenges that can be completed in return for Gold. You can find these quests in the top left corner of your screen, and they will change every day! If you’re a completionist, we’ve also added 10 brand new achievements for players to unlock!
But with an update this large, there will be some bad news. The one thing everyone hates… the Great Reset. With 3.0, we have been forced to reset players’ gold counts. This is due to our new achievement system, exploit protection mechanics, and completely redesigned map.
Don’t worry, though, we will be allowing all players who login to Prison Breakout to begin with 100 Gold in the bank, so you’ll get a nice head start! We have also taken the liberty of decreasing the price of weapons!
We understand that not everyone has the time to stay updated on the game’s progress, so to make things easier… we have added a new announcement system! Throughout the City and the rest of the map, players will now be able to view television screens with the latest news and info regarding all things Prison Breakout.
Since the launch of Prison Breakout in January 2021, it has recorded over 90 million plays, and remains one of Fortnite’s most popular games - all thanks to our incredible community!
We have been working incredibly hard on 3.0 over the past few months, taking all fan feedback in mind. After a few delays, we are so relieved that we finally get to release it to the world. We can’t wait to see what you guys think!
